ARTS RWC: The Gallery Annex has a new home and new art!

The Gallery Annex has moved and has a new show and a few other rwc art happenings!

Hope you all got to check out the art exhibits springing up in downtown Redwood City.  I mentioned the Sequoia Art Group show at the Main Library last time, featuring Printmaker Mary Alice Bowie and Photographer Beth Mostovoy (insert shameless plug here). There is also a new show, "Women's View - 2012 at the Caldwell Gallery, 400 County Center, featuring art created by women who live in San Mateo County.  I hope to have more info on that soon to pass along.

The BIG News!

Several BIG changes downtown. The amazingly popular Gallery Annex, located on the corner of Broadway and Theatre Way has a new home.  No worries, it is still in the 'hood, having moved just a few doors down next to The Old Spaghetti Factory.

You must go there and see the first exhibit in their new space. It is all about the Kids! Kids and Art together are ALWAYS inspiring!  And Alisan Andrews, Gallery Annex Director, wants you to know you are invited to a attend a special public exhibit for the Sequoia High School Art Department students and a special Reception:

Sunday, April 15th

1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

in the Gallery Annex at 2115 Broadway, RWC

There will be an awards ceremony featuring two extraordinary speakers who will inspire and support the artists-students:

Kory Heinzen - Art Director at DreamWorks Animation, Visual Development Artist at PDI/Dreamworks

Paul Turner - Operations Manager - iTunes Content Engineering at Apple

The opportunity to support and inspire our youth in the arts is a central point of The Redwood City Art Center Outreach program.  Alisan adds:  We sincerely hope you will calendar this date and attend the reception for this exhibit.

Please note:  The exhibit will be open to the public most afternoons (after school) when the students will participate as student-docents.  The times and dates of the open schedule will be determined shortly)

Please feel free to pass this information along to any and all that may be interested and wish to support our local High School and the Arts.
