On a Sunday in 2010 at 11 p.m., my friend came home with his shirt all bloody.
His mom asked what was wrong and my friend started explaining. She took him to his room to try to make him stop bleeding. He was bleeding a lot because the wound was so deep.
She tried to sew “butterflies” with cotton to clot the blood, but he wouldn’t stop bleeding. She got him in the car and left for the hospital.

My friend told his mom that he was stabbed by some guys that he didn’t even know.
When they arrived at Kaiser Hospital, the cops arrived but they didn’t really do anything.

The cops started to ask him if he knew them, if he was with anyone, if he was in a gang, etc. They also promised my friend that they would find the guys who did this.
A couple months later, we were at the Chavez Supermarket. Some guys in the market whispered “that’s the guy that we stabbed,” which my friend overheard.
Then my friend went after them outside and wanted to fight them but decided against it.
His mom begged him not to do anything so he stopped.
