The students are pounding the pavement, working to raise money for their trip, so they hope members of the community will turn out this Sunday for their Electronic Waste Collection Event. The event will help raise funds for the students' trip.

The event will be "drive-through," and residents can turn in electronic waste they no longer have a need for. Working or not, the school will accept it.

Organizers say, acceptable e-waste includes computers, televisions, stereos, copiers, fax machines, VCR/VCD/DVD players, landline and cellular phones, home entertainment systems, and many other electronic items. Car batteries will also be accepted.

The collection event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, March 3, in the Jefferson parking lot at Roy Cloud School, 3790 Red Oak Way in Redwood City.
