Redwood City Pipeline Project Announces Saturday Work

Bair Island Road/Bair Island

The SBSA pipeline project will be working for two Saturdays in these areas:
Saturday, December 7 - 8:00 am-7:00 pm Bair Island Marina/USFWS Parking Lot (Reach 3 Microtunneling only)
Saturday, December 14 - 8:00 am-7:00 pm Bair Island Marina/USFWS Parking Lot (Reach 3 Microtunneling only)

This Saturday work is to enable the contractor to meet a deadline to finish the microtunneling in this area before the Christmas work break. The contractor plans to take a work break from December 23 to January 3.

Maple Street

There will be an approximately eight hour waterline shutdown on Maple Street on December 17, with the specific timeframe to be determined. The exact time frame will be provided when it is determined. The shutdown is to accommodate necessary project work and is unavoidable. The affected parties extend from the Sheriff's Work Furlough/Shelter Network facilities to the Bay Area Aquatic Center.
There will be increased noise in the vicinity of the Redwood City Pump Station across from Sheriff's Work Furlough/Shelter network facilities for a sanitary sewer shoring system. The first period will be December 13 to December 20, and then resume again the week of January 6, 2014. (More information about duration will be known and announced before resumption in January). The noise will not be nearly as loud as the pile driving in front of Docktown in November, but more than the area is accustomed. The work includes installing large steel piles into the ground. The parking in the area will be affected slightly-four parking spaces in front of the construction trailers will be removed.
The Maple Street crew is planning on taking the same break as the Bair Island crew -- December 23 to January 3 - but this will be confirmed within the week.
