Toll Wars Over Proposed $6 Increase

San Mateo County tries to get San Francisco to back down on its congestion toll proposal.

In response to talks in San Francisco about rolling out a $6 daily toll on drivers commuting from the Peninsula into San Francisco, city leaders throughout San Mateo County sent a letter to San Francisco officials last week threatening to levy a $12 daily toll on commuters traveling in and out of the Peninsula, the Mercury News reports.

What San Mateo County leaders would really like to see is San Francisco drop the toll altogether, which the San Francisco city council will be taking under early consideration this week.

What do you think of San Francisco's proposed toll, and San Mateo County's suggested counter-toll?  Is our northern border about to get hot?
