San Mateo Law Enforcement Agencies to Descend on Canada College for 'Campus Violence' Drill

Police warn Peninsula residents that they may spot "a large police and fire presence" around the Redwood City college-- but not to be alarmed.

The following is a news release from the Redwood City Police Department: 
 
On Friday July 18th from 7:30am to 5pm the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with all other local law enforcement agencies within San Mateo County will be conducting a joint training exercise at Canada College. During this time there will be a large police and fire presence in the area immediately around the campus. All surrounding streets will be open to normal vehicle and pedestrian traffic. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this event. 

This event is the result of the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association’s commiment to developing and testing the most effective practices associated with reducing and responding to campus violence.
