HazMat Team Responds to Diesel Fuel Spill on Train Tracks

Officials were dispatched around 8:17 p.m. today.

A hazardous materials team is responding to a diesel fuel spill in Redwood City tonight, a San Mateo County fire dispatcher said.

A fuel tank of a Union Pacific train was ruptured near Blomquist Street and Seaport Boulevard, according to the dispatcher.

Information regarding how the tank was ruptured was not immediately available.
