One person was killed and another was airlifted to a hospital after a head-on traffic collision on the outskirts of Woodside Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. At 6:58 p.m. the collision was reported on Skyline Boulevard about three miles south of La Honda Road in a rural, mountainous region of San Mateo County.
Skyline was shut down because of the collision and reopened shortly, the CHP said. One person was not breathing when paramedics arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was airlifted to Stanford Hospital with major injuries. The CHP has not yet determined what caused the collision.
