UPDATE: Hwy. 84 Reopens; Crews Clear Fallen Tree

San Mateo County Sheriff's officials say Hwy. 84 (Woodside Road) is open after a fallen tree briefly blocked the roadway Friday morning.

Update: Friday 8:10 a.m.

State Highway 84 has reopened in Woodside this morning after a tree fell and briefly blocked the roadway, San Mateo County sheriff's officials said.

The tree fell and also knocked down power and telephone lines on Highway 84 east of state Highway 35 near Grandview Drive, sheriff's officials said. Traffic was blocked in both directions while AT&T and PG&E crews responded and cleared the roadway.

The highway was reopened as of shortly after 7:45 a.m., according to the sheriff's office.

A fallen tree that also knocked down power and telephone lines is blocking state Highway 84 in Woodside this morning, San Mateo County sheriff's officials said. Highway 84 is blocked in both directions east of state Highway 35 near Grandview Drive, sheriff's officials said.

AT&T and PG&E crews responded and are working to clear the roadway, which is expected to reopen around 8:15 a.m., according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities are asking motorists to drive safely during the stormy weather and to keep an eye out for flooded roadways or debris.
