Update: CHP Identifies Holiday DUI Checkpoint Location
The CHP will be looking for drunk drivers to prevent accidents.
Update Friday, Dec. 23; 3:29 p.m.: The DUI checkpoint will take place tonight from 7 to 11 p.m. at Westbound SR-92 at SR-35.
Before you have another cup of eggnog, be warned that the is conducting another DUI checkpoint this Friday, Dec. 23.
Because there tends to be more people out driving on the weekends and in the holidays in general, there can be more people driving under the influence, said Montiel.

There’s an exit that responsible drivers can spot and take if they want to avoid the checkpoint. But drunk drivers, Montiel said, often don't see the alternate exit and proceed through the checkpoint.
“We just want people to drive safe and have a backup plan if their designated driver falls through,” Montiel told Patch.

The CHP will release the exact location of the checkpoint two hours before the DUI operation begins.
