Blotter: Transients Attack Each Other, Armed Robbery at Business

The following information was supplied by the Redwood City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

8:27 a.m. - Vandalism: Occured on Marshall Street. Man called police to report that an unknown suspect dropped pumpkins on his car, causing damage. Report taken.

8:41 a.m. - Hit & Run w/ Injuries: Occured near Hoover School on Charter Street. Cyclist hit by silver Nissan minivan. Driver fled scene in vehicle toward Middlefield. Cyclist had leg pain, requested medical attention. Report taken.

11:33 a.m. - Commercial Burglary: Occured on Redwood Shores Parkway. Person reported a burglary had occured sometime over the weekend. Unknown suspect/s broke into locked storage facility and private offices. Unknown what was taken yet. Report taken.

2:14 p.m. - Drug Activity: Occured on Glenwood Avenue. Resident called to report a suspicious dar-blue Honda was parked in front of her house with possibly four subjects inside, smoking illegal drugs. Car was gone upon officers' arrival.

2:22 p.m. - Intoxicated Person: Occured on Oak Avenue. Person called to report a Hispanic male in his 40s was stumbling and falling in front of a preschool. Gone upon officers' arrival.

3:43 p.m. - Battery: Occured on Shell station on Whipple Avenue. Woman said a man she knows just punched her in the face and left. Report taken.

5:33 p.m. - Accident w/ Minor Injuries: Occured at Woodside Road and Union Avenue. Auto vs. pedestrian. Pedestrian reported he has the name and number of the person that hit him, would like to file a report. Complained of leg pain but denied medical attention.

10:50 p.m. - Armed Suspect: Someone called to report seeing an armed Hispanic man, around 25-30 years old, on Roosevelt Avenue. He left in a small silver car, heading toward El Camino. Wearing gray-blue sweater. Report taken.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 10

7:28 a.m. - Transient: Occured on Geneva Avenue. Someone called to report a white male, balding, around 50 years old, living in a large box. 

7:34 a.m. - Disturbance/Danger: Occured on Florence Street. Someone called to report a group of 4-5 juveniles playing on the train tracks. Referred to other agency.

10:02 a.m. - Armed Robbery: Occured on Woodside Road. A black male wearing sunglasses entered the business just like a regular customer, then tried to get into the back. He jumped over the door, grabbed keys and money and fled. Report taken.

3:16 p.m. - Shoplift: Occured on El Camino Real. Store employees called to report two suspects for shoplifting products. One suspect was with loss prevention employees waitibg for authorities; the other suspect fled. Arrest made.

5:44 p.m. - Battery: Occured at Whipple Avenue and Veterans Blvd. Someone called to report two transients attacking each other. Arrest made.

6:37 p.m. - False Imprisonment: Occured on Arguello Street. Female called to report that someone had held her against her will. Report taken.

10:35 p.m. - Disturbance/Fight: Occured on Kentfield Avenue. Someone called to report a fight between four people in the parking lot.

11:45 p.m. - Violation of Court Order: A female called to report that a man had come around multiple times in the past week, violating restraining order she has against him.

 

Thursday, Oct. 11

12:21 a.m. - DUI/Accident: Occured on Poplar Avenue. Vehicle rollover, DUI. Arrest made.

4:53 a.m. - Suspicious Activity: Occured on Avenue del Ora. Person reported two Hispanic males, one in black sweatshirt, one in hat, driving silver or gold Honda Civic. Reporting person saw them pull up in front of his/her house, and start looking into windows of neighbors' vehicles. Then, they left in the direction of Jefferson. Officers were unable to locate.

8:27 a.m. - Stolen Vehicle: Occured on Middlefield Road. White Toyota Camry taken sometime overnight. Possible ignition punch. Report taken.

8:45 a.m. - Stolen Vehicle: Occured on Claremont Avenue. Beige 1995 Honda Accord taken sometime overnight. Report Taken.

8:56 a.m. - Stolen Vehicle: Occured on El Camino Real. Uhaul auto transport carrier taken. Report taken.

8:57 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Poplar Avenue. Unwanted boyfriend refusing to leave woman's house. Arrest made.

10:26 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured at El Camino Real, on Oak Avenue side of business. Transient yelling and throwing items at passers-by. Black female in her 50s with salt-and-pepper hair.

10:56 a.m. - Hit & Run w/ Injuries: Occured on Broadway. Bicycle vs. pedestrian. Pedestrian reported being hit by cyclist, who fled the scene. Report taken.

2:00 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured at James Avnue, on northbound train arriving at Redwood City station. Report of two black males, one 6'2" and the other 5'7", in verbal/physical fight with train conductor. Transit police were unavailable.

6:14 p.m. - Vandalism: Occured on Beech Street. Person reported his/her brown Suburban was entirely scratched up. Report taken.

7:19 p.m. - Stolen Vehicle: Occured at Marshall Street parking lot. Owner reported theft of red 1994 Honda Accord. Report taken.

7:27 p.m. - Battery: Report delivered through translator. Occured on Heller Street. An unknown suspect hit the reporting party's husband and another older man that was with them in the faces. Report taken.

8:40 p.m. - Harassment/Obscene Phone Calls: Occured on Poplar Avenue. Woman reported ongoing harassment by her ex-husband.

9:39 p.m. - Residential Burglary: Occured on Redwood Avenue. An apartment was broken into sometime between 4-9 p.m. Phone chargers, clothing, shoes and money were stolen. Report taken.

I agree, the public has the right to know what they are eating. It is absurd to be purchasing foodRead More that contains GMOs and not be able to know it is in the food.... why the secret if it is so safe??? I will not shop at any food stores that refuse to provide the public with information on what I am eating or serving to the people I care about. Trader Joes and Whole Foods have my loyalty for having the courage to stand up against the big guys and set an example by doing what is right for the consumer and not folding to pressure from Monsanto, Dupont and the other corporate giants that could care less about our safety and only care about how much money they can rake in.
