Blotter: Stabbing Victim Stumbles Into Emergency Room

The following information was supplied by the Redwood City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 16

1:37 a.m. - Disturbance: Occurred on Page Street. Report of heated family dispute. Verbal, possibly physical. Caller held up phone and loud screaming could be heard, then line disconnected.

4:55 a.m. - Disturbance/Attempted Vehicle Burglary: Occurred on Hudson Street and James Avenue. Woman called to say her husband had detained a man trying to break into their car out in front of their home. Holding him until police arrive. Arrest made.

6:37 a.m. - Possible Commercial Burglary: Occurred at store in Woodside Plaza Shopping Center. Employees arrived at work to find the front door and a window open. Requesting officer walk-thru.

8:19 a.m. - Disturbance/Truancy: Occurred on Carlos Avenue. Three 13-year-old juveniles (daughter and stepdaughters) refusing to go to school.

9:28 a.m. - Domestic Violence/Battery: Report of Asian male hitting his female passenger. Officers unable to locate.

10:50 a.m. - Graffiti/Vandalism: Occurred on Goodwin Avenue. Juvenile detained in school office for graffiti. Arrest made.

12:48 p.m. - Stolen Vehicle: Occurred on Main and Cedar streets. Report taken.

2:26 p.m. - Grand Theft: Occurred on Florence Street. Two computers and a backpack taken from inside business. Report taken.

3:04 p.m. - Disturbance: Occurred at Upton Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Report of about 30 juveniles running into the street and blocking access to vehicles.

3:13 p.m. - Drug Activity: Occurred at James Avenue Caltrain station. Report of a group of 8-10 black males smoking marijuana on the platform.

7:03 p.m. - Assault & Battery: Occurred at 5th Avenue and Broadway. Caller requesting a well check of a male on the ground - thinks he may have been beaten up. Described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark jacket, white t-shirt and baggy jeans. Report taken.

9:22 p.m. - Assault/Petty Theft: Female caller states male tried to hit her, stole her CDs out of her car, and then was banging on her car and scratched the car. Male is Spanish-speaking, Hispanic, around 19 years old, and is now hanging out outside somewhere. Arrest made.

10:23 p.m. - Domestic Violence: Neighbor called to report hearing argument next door, going on for at least 30 minutes, sounds like it is getting physical.

10:34 p.m. - Domestic Disturbance: Occurred on El Camino Real. Female says her mom and brother are hitting her, kicked her out.

 

Saturday, Nov. 17

12:31 a.m. - Disturbance: Occurred on St. Francis Street. Loud party going on nearby in the light orange house. Garage door is open. People drinking, being loud and urinating in the street. 

1:42 a.m. - Disturbance: Occurred on Bair Island Road. Cab driver reporting that passenger threw up in his cab, slapped him, and then got out and refused to pay. 

4:22 a.m. - Disturbance: Occurred on El Camino Real. A white male, 25-30 years old, is refusing to leave business. Has blood stains on his shirt. Will leave for a few moments and then keeps returning.

9:30 a.m. - Stolen Vehicle: Occurred on Rolison Road. Last seen at 9:45 p.m. last night. Report taken.

11:15 a.m. - Found Property: Occurred on Laurel Street. Resident reports finding pillowcase containing jewelry in his/her trash. Report taken.

12:05 p.m. - Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Occurred on Hoover Street. Resident says a car is parked in her driveway - turns out to be a vehicle reported stolen.

2:02 p.m. - Fraud: Occurred at bank on Redwood Shores Parkway. Employee reports a man trying to pass a bad check - matches photo of man who has tried to pass bad checks in other branches as well. Report taken.

3:48 p.m. - Shoplift: Occurred on Walnut Street. Arrest made.

4:23 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Occurred on Hudson Street and Oak Avenue. Caller reports hearing glass breaking from the direction of the school, then saw four juveniles running toward Roosevelt - described as Hispanic male juveniles, one wearing backpack.

7:03 p.m. - Assault: Occurred on Broadway. Man reports female walked up to him and broke a glass on his head, then fled on foot. Report taken.

10:30 p.m. - Stabbing: Man walked into hospital on Veterans Boulevard with a stab wound to his lower abdomen. Said stabbing occurred at a house party in Redwood City. Officers responded, report taken.

 

Sunday, Nov. 18

12:20 a.m. - Drug Activity: Occurred on El Camino Real. Report of subjects selling drugs in the bar area of business. 

12:34 a.m. - Disturbance/Threats: Occurred on Hopkins Avenue. Anonymous neighbor hears an argument outside between male subjects, heard one of them threaten to get a gun. Officers unable to locate.

4:41 a.m. - Gunshots Heard: Occurred on Poplar Avenue. Two shots heard five minutes ago. Nothing seen in the area. Officers unable to locate anything.

1:14 p.m. - Disturbance/Possible Child Abuse: Occurred on Elm Street. Report of a stepfather, hit two stepdaughters, 14 and 15 years old, then left in a red truck, unknown destination. Report taken.

2:02 p.m. - Battery: Occurred on El Camino Real. Subject assaulted female and then assaulted security guard who tried to stop him. Guard pepper-sprayed subject. Described as a white male wearing a green shirt and jeans. He took off on foot. Report taken.

5:25 p.m. - Person Down: Occurred on Redwood Avenue. Male subject lying on the floor, unresponsive. Possibly on drugs. Report taken.

6:50 p.m. - Brandish Weapon: Occurred on Maple Street. Report that father pulled a knife on his son. 

11:36 p.m. - Disturbance: Occurred on Woodside Road. A white male, bald, wearing a leather vest who is very drunk just broke the front window of a business with a stick or pipe. Now is trying to get inside the business. Report taken.
