Blotter: Man Drinks Wine From a Thermos While Driving, Men Spotted Filming Children

The following information was supplied by the Redwood City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Oct. 4

3:05 a.m. - Gun Shots Heard: Occured in building on Twin Dolphin Drive on the 2nd floor. One shot was heard near the hallway. Another neighbor heard it also. Officers were unable to locate.

6:39 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Hess Road. A subject was standing outside a person's home, yelling and banging on the door. Officers advised the person to move on.

7:39 a.m. - Residential Burglary: Occured on Durlston Road. A resident reported his or her garage was possibly unlocked, and an unknown suspect entered and stole a wallet with cash and credit cards from his or her vehicle. A report was taken.

11:00 a.m. - Suspicious Person/Attempted Burglary: Occured on Kandle Way. A Hispanic male with short black hair wearing a maroon-colored hoodie was pacing back and forth in front of a home and looking into the front window. Then the man entered the side yard. At that point the resident walked outside, which scared the suspect off. A report was taken.

12:17 p.m. - DUI: Someone called the police to report they had just seen a man pour wine from a box into his Thermos and then get behind the wheel of his car and drive away. The reporting party was following the vehicle, which was a dark-gray Honda Pilot. Officers advised the driver.

6:45 p.m. - Drug Activity: Someone reported seeing a group of juveniles in the skatepark at Nevada Street and Madison Avenue smoking what the reporting party could identify as marijuana by the smell. 

7:26 p.m. - Suspicious Person: Occured on Gordon Street. Reporting party told police there was a man outside his or her building since 10:00 a.m. that was trying to get someone to let him inside the building. 

 

Saturday, Oct. 6

12:11 a.m. - Gun Shots Heard: Occured on Flynn Avenue. Reporting party said six shots were heard. A second person also called to report hearing six gun shots. Officers responded to the scene and evidence of shots fired were located on Flynn. Later, at 6:51 a.m., someone called to report he or she had found .45 shell casings near the corner of Flynn and Meadow Lane.

1:25 a.m. - Stray Animals: Occured on E. Bayshore. A reporting party called to say he or she had caged a raccoon roaming his or her yard, and now the raccoon's babies were circling the cage and screaming. Authorities advised.

11:39 a.m. - Suspicious Person: Someone called to report a white mall, around 55 years old, wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt was videotaping a youth wrestling match without permission. The man had been spotted filming matches before and had been asked to leave many times.

1:53 p.m. - Suspicious Occupied Vehicle: A reporting party called to report seeing a man around 20 years old in a parked car at the library on Euclid Avenue taking photos of children on the playground. Officers were unable to locate.

2:43 p.m. - Disturbance: Someone called to report a man on Roosevelt Avenue was sitting on the curb drinking a beer and yelling at young children that pass by. 

3:07 p.m. - Disturbance: A parent called to report second-hand seeing juveniles in the skatepark on Nevada Street and Madison Avenue were smoking marijuana and throwing knives at trees. Officers were unable to locate.

5:11 p.m. - Disturbance/Indecent Exposure: Occured at El Camino Real and brewster Avenue. Someone reported a white male with a beard wearing a tan jacket was urinating in public and exposing himself. The man was cited.

11:29 p.m. - Battery: Occured at El Camino Real and Roosevelt. Reporting party said he was assaulted by unknown subjects, causing a laceration to his lower lip, around 9:30 p.m. Person did not wish to seek prosecution.

I agree, the public has the right to know what they are eating. It is absurd to be purchasing foodRead More that contains GMOs and not be able to know it is in the food.... why the secret if it is so safe??? I will not shop at any food stores that refuse to provide the public with information on what I am eating or serving to the people I care about. Trader Joes and Whole Foods have my loyalty for having the courage to stand up against the big guys and set an example by doing what is right for the consumer and not folding to pressure from Monsanto, Dupont and the other corporate giants that could care less about our safety and only care about how much money they can rake in.
