Redwood City to Celebrate 'Fiestas Patrias'

Festivities include live music, dance, food, and a flag ceremony. Admission to the Sunday afternoon event is free.

Redwood City is gearing up to celebrate "Fiestas Patrías" in grand fashion.

The Sunday afternoon event will feature live music, dance, art for the kids, authentic Mexican food, and a flag ceremony.

Los Humildes, Ronadalla Zap y Roma and Mariachi San Jose are the featured musicians who will perform at the event.

Fiestas Patrias, which in English means "patriotic holiday," celebrates Mexico's 202nd year of independence. The Redwood City event honors all Latin cultures.

The event is will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Courthouse Square. Admission is free.
