What better way to raise funds for Redwood City literacy projects than with a good old-fashioned trivia contest? This year's bee will be held Friday, Oct. 11 beginning at 6:30 at Canada College.
Now in its 24th year, the annual Trivia Bee sponsored by Redwood City Friends of Literacy & Project READ, is one of the city's most anticipated events. The Trivia BEE event is designed to promote literacy awareness and raise funds to support Project READ's mission of a literate community.
Who participates in this fun-filled, zany event? Folks who are passionate about promoting literacy in the community and are ready for a fun filled evening of useless trivia.
According to the event's website, funds raised from the Trivia Bee provide weekly services to over 500 adults and children who are working side by side with volunteer tutors in the pursuit of improving their basic reading and writing skills. Nationally recognized, award winning, and built on a tradition of innovative success, Project READ is a treasure to be celebrated. Participating in the Trivia Bee is the perfect way to show your support.
There are all kinds of ways to get involved--as a sponsor the event, get together a team, or come as a spectator.
In addition to mind-blowing trivia and the crowning of the coveted title of Trivia BEE Champs of Redwood City, the event will feature hors d'oeuvre and dessert extravaganza, music, friends and terrific fun.
