Hazardous Weather Response Team (HWRT)

HWRT (Hazardous Weather Response Team) is a team of trained volunteer first responders that saw a problem in a community and came together to form a solution. The HWRT or Hazardous Weather Response Team responds to hundreds of calls per season. Our current weather response team has an operational period of November to May each year. HWRT handles calls such as: flooding, trees down, power lines/cables down, traffic accidents, storm drain maintenance and public assists such as sand bagging. HWRT is NOT part of the Town of Woodside or Portola Valley, Woodside Fire Protection District or San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. We are a private organization that is doing our part to serve two great communities. HWRT hopes to reach out to the residences of Woodside and Portola Valley and inform them that such a resources does exist for them in time of need. HWRT has posted flyers around the area of Woodside and Portola Valley and are dropping flyers in mail boxes to inform the community.

HWRT is always looking for new volunteers who want to help their community. If you are interested please contact the HWRT field commander at evanbernard@me.com for more information.
