Local Company Pledges $2-3 From Every Sale to PAL Toy & Book Drive

Leapset, a website that helps you find local restaurants and order or check-in with them online, will donate $2-3 from each order placed to PAL through Jan. 31.

One Redwood City company is getting into the spirit of the holidays by pledging to donate $2 from every sale to the Redwood City Fire/Police/PAL Toy & Book Drive.

Leapset is a website that helps connect people to local restaurants by allowing them to find a restaurant that matches what they're looking for, order online, check in, earn rewards, and more.

Leapset announced this week that the company is donating $2 to the Redwood City Fire/Police/PAL Toy & Book Drive for every restaurant order placed through Leapset in any of its Redwood City or San Mateo locations, up to a maximum donation of $5,000.

Orders may be placed online at www.leapset.com/order, and the code "RWCPAL" must be entered at checkout.

In addition, popular sandwich spot Ike’s Lair in Redwood City will donate an additional $1 every time the code is used - so, collectively, PAL will receive a total of $3 for every eligible online order made for Ike’s Lair through Leapset.

“Leapset is part of the Redwood City community, and this is a great way for us to give back and help those in need,” said Jorn Wossner, vice-president of sales and marketing. “Leapset is all about local businesses and building community. We are thrilled to be a member of the wonderful partnership that’s bringing some Christmas spirit to families and kids in the community who need some help.”

The Redwood City Police and Fire Departments and Redwood City Police Activities League are coordinating the Christmas Toy and Book Drive to bring the holiday spirit right to the doorstep of many needy families. It’s an annual event that is a welcome tradition in the Redwood City community, and Leapset is now part of this holiday effort.

The donation offer continues through Jan. 31, 2013.

Information about the annual toy drive is online at www.toydriverwc.com

Vanessa and ctpiazza, Buckley Stone at Pete's Harbor says it is because some time ago the CityRead More dredged near muni and ran a pipe under to spill it out at Bair Island, so it is actually the remains of rotting sea life. He knows so much about this area having been at Pete's for 20 years and knowing so much about the area the tides and the nature and land around here.
