Paula Uccelli Helps Waterfront Restaurant Owners Celebrate Last Day

The owners hosted a special farewell lunch on Saturday.

The Waterfront Restaurant celebrated its last day in business at Pete's Harbor on Saturday with a special lunchtime banquet.

Pete's Harbor owner Paula Uccelli was reportedly on hand to help mark the bittersweet occasion with the Waterfront's owners for the past 11 years, husband and wife Jose and Dunia Rodriguez.

"The Rodriguez family and the Waterfront Restaurant have been a wonderful part of the Pete's Harbor history," Uccelli said. "The Uccelli family congratulates the Rodriguez' on their move to the vibrant downtown, and looks forward to being among the very first customers at their new establishment."

Redwood City resident Murray Weber exclaimed, “What a shame. [The Waterfront is a] great restaurant, [it's] always been my favorite."

Jose and Dunia told Patch recently that they are close to finalizing a new location for the restaurant downtown, and hope to re-open by Valentine's Day.

They expect to announce their new address, as well as a new name for the restaurant - since it will no longer be located on the water - very soon.

Uccelli, who is closing the harbor as of Jan. 15 in preparation to sell it, said, "While change is hard for all of us, new beginnings are so very exciting."

Patch will continue to update this story as new information becomes available.
