Compost Your Christmas Tree

Recology San Mateo County will pick up your Christmas tree for free until Jan. 31.

There's good news for those dreading the inevitable question, "how are we going to get rid of this big ol' Christmas tree?"

Recology San Mateo County will collect holiday trees to be composted through Jan. 31, on your regular collection day.

There is no garbage service on Jan. 1 for New Year's Day. See our article, "What's My Trash/Recycling Pick-Up Schedule Over the Holidays?" for other important dates.
