AKC "S.T.A.R." PUPPY CLASS: 10:00-11:00 a.m.-Open to all puppies (mix breed and pure-bred) from the time after the first set of vaccinations through 6 months of age. This period is an important time to begin socializing your puppy, as well as a good time to begin training. Learn to teach your pup to sit, walk on a leash, come when called, lie down, not jump on people and to take food gently from your hand -- PLUS much more! This is a fun class that helps build puppy's confidence, teaches good manners, and answers puppy-raising questions about house-training, chewing, nipping, etc. PEOPLE ONLY AT FIRST CLASS 10:00-11:15 A.M.

BEGINNER'S CLASS- 11:15a.m. -12:15 p.m. For dogs over six months of age, this class teaches all of the basic training commands including sit, heel, down, come, sit-stay, and down-stay. It also teaches the dog how to socialize with people and other dogs, and helps to eliminate problem behaviors, such as jumping on people and grabbing food from your hand. This class is taught on-leash to help you gain control. It is a great way to brush up on an older dog's obedience. NO DOG AT FIRST CLASS, PEOPLE ONLY 10:00-11:15 A.M.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN / ADVANCED CLASS- 12:30-1:30 p.m. This class is for graduates of Beginners who are ready to begin more advanced work and preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test. The foundation for off-leash work is introduced in this class. Advanced recalls (coming when called) and heeling are taught. Socialization, stand-stays and longer, reliable sit and down-stays are emphasized. Appropriate for those who want to gain more control of their dogs, as well as for those interested in completing the optional test. New students please attend orientation at 10:00-11:15 a.m. first class meeting.

Meet Our Trainer, Kathryn Blink

Kathryn has been showing Dalmatians in AKC Conformation, Agility and Obedience for 30 years. She trained her first homebred champion in 1983. Kathryn has trained and shown 4 Multi High in Trial Dalmatians and she is currently working on a MACH in agility for her "Drifty", CD, RE, MX, MXJ, MXF. Kathryn started teaching classes in 2002. Her students have been very successful Whether it is helping puppies or novice exhibitors learn to show, or tuning up a seasoned performer, she loves watching everyone achieve their goals and become well mannered family dogs, too!. Kathryn is an effective, knowledgeable instructor that brings fun & humor into her classes.
