Marriage Equality Activists Organizing Redwood City Rally

An event to commemorate the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on the Defense of Marriage Act will take place in Redwood City, California.

When the U.S. Supreme Court releases its decisions on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act, rallies will unfurl at locations throughout the Bay Area including Redwood City, California.

Marriage Equality USA will be holding an event on Wednesday at the San Mateo County Clerk’s Office, located at 555 County Center.

“It may be a protest depending on what the Supreme Court decides, or a celebration," said organizer Steve Epstein. “But it’s definitely going to happen.”

Epstein has been organizing this event for the past few weeks, inviting community leaders, local politicians, and clergy to speak at this rally. The list of speakers is expected to be finalized Tuesday night.

The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule on these cases Wednesday, which is catalyzing LGBT and allied groups to organize events throughout the state of California.

The event in Redwood City will begin at 5 p.m.
