In addition to the more common activity of monitoring traffic, the California Highway Patrol partners with local officials to protect the community. The state agency also regularly volunteers in the community. This division pioneered the community outreach program, sending a contingent of 14 officers to East Palo Alto in 1993 to assist local government in controlling a high crime problem. The three-year cooperative program resulted in a 98 percent drop in the homicide rate.

The club also offers two specialty programs: Triple Play, and the Center for a New Generation, which provide targeted support to select members. At the club in Redwood City, they offer classes to those struggling with high school classes in addition to several sports, music and arts programs. There is a complete recording studio complete with several musical instruments. There is film equipment with editing software for those with a passion for film.
