Glancing at the unassuming corner complex located at 2860 Spring Street, one wouldn't imagine the amazing feats ofMore strength and skill being honed within suite #1. This is Peninsula Boxing & Fitness. Established in 2008, this is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to "serving underprivileged or at risk youth as well as adult community members regardless of age, gender, race, creed, color or sexual orientation." In order to accomplish its goal, Peninsula offers academic development, an amateur boxing program, as well as recreational and fitness boxing classes.  </p> <p> </p>

Redwood City Police Department

The Redwood City Police Department has 94 total sworn officers and numerous support staff dedicated to "providingMore excellent service with integrity and respect."</p> <p>Services like the automobile seatbelt safety campaigns, sobriety checkpoints, specialized traffic safety operations, as well as alcohol-impaired driver awareness programs and bicycle safety programs for Redwood City youth are funded by awarded grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety.</p> <p>The Police Department partners with other San Mateo County agencies to address illegal drug use and criminal and street gang violence.  Members of the department also belong to the County Gang Task Force and the County Narcotics Task Force.</p> <p>In addition to combating crime, the department fosters programs to engage youth and the community. The Police Activities League (PAL) serves to promote positive relationships between department members and the youth of Redwood City.  The PAL program engages thousands of young people every year through sports programs, camps, counseling services and after-school programs. The D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. programs educate youth on the dangers of gang activities and drug and alcohol use to fifth through seventh grade students as part of the school program.  The School Resource Officer program serves to create a safer environment on campus through early intervention with at-risk youth and juvenile counseling programs.  </p>

Palo Alto Rowing Club

Palo Alto Rowing Club's main focus is working with young atheletes from ages 12 to 18 to realize their rowingMore potential through experienced coaching and hard training while having a fun time.</p> <p>The club also has adult programs for people of any level of experience. </p> <p>At their location on East Bayshore Boulevard in Redwood City they have Land Practice and other meetings in their Erg Studio.
