At the school, teachers provide a more tailored education with the understanding that not all students learn the same way.</p> <p>Enrollment is limited and students must be enrolled in work experience or another education or vocational program like ROP or OICW. Students age 16 to 18 can apply upon recommendation from a counselor and an administrator from one of the other four high schools. Parents can also initiate an enrollment request for their student. They can earn credits from any community college as well. Every month students are evaluated and must earn a certain number of points from academic performance, attendance and work experience.</p> <p>From 2000 to 2005, it was a State of California Model Continuation High School awardee.</p>
