Photos: Redwood City Gets Some Spring Cleaning

Hundreds of residents targeted four locations to help beautify and restore.

Redwood City residents geared up for a day of spring cleaning on Saturday at five locations throughout the city.

Sponsored by the Redwood City Pride and Beautification Committee, this annual event brings out kids and adults alike who wish to do their part in the spirit of Earth Day. The event focused on four sites: Redwood Creek, historic Union Cemetery, , Woodside Road, plus some cleanup and restoration at Stulsaft Park.

As a “thank you,” residents received a free continental breakfast and barbecue lunch.

Thank you so much, Joan, for taking the photos of our Pride & Beautification Annual Spring Cleanup and sending them to Patch. What a very successful event we had. There were over 500 volunteers who removed 1.2 tons of garbage, leaving Redwood City even more beautiful. What a tremendous difference a group can make by working together. Diane Howard, Chair of the Pride & Beautification Committee.
