Woodside Cagers Varsity Baskeball Team Defeats Carlmont

The Wildcats' Ryan Yeniak led the scoring with 19. Next up for Woodside is Burlingame; the Carlmont Scots will take on to San Mateo--both game are Wednesday.

Woodside High School's Varsity Boy's team held off a determined Carlmont squad Friday night at home to earn their first league win, 42-40. 

The Willdcats led by as much as 20 in the second half, but Carlmont mounted a massive comeback to pull within 2 with less than 9 seconds left in the game. Woodside's Kevin Kahriman and Michael Thompson stuffed the final surge by the Scots to preserve the victory and improve the Wildcats league record to 1-1.

The Wildcats Ryan Yeniak led all scorers with 19 points, including 6 three pointers, while Gifford and Rodriguez provided Carlmont's fire power with 17 and 10 points respectively. 

Carlmont will play at home this Wednesday against San Mateo, and the Wildcats will travel to Burlingame, both games begin at 6pm.
