TENNIS: Woodside's Newcomb Wins PAL Singles Title
Wildcat didn't lose a set in rolling to league championship, downed Carlmont's Pang 6-3, 6-2 in final.
Woodside High’s Shep Newcomb won the singles title in the Peninsula Athletic League boys tennis championships on Friday afternoon.
Newcomb, who didn’t lose a set in four tournament matches, defeated Carlmont’s Corey Pang 6-3, 6-2 in the final at Burlingame High.
In a doubles final pitting two Menlo-Atherton teams, Matt Giordano and Zeke Brown won 6-1, 6-4 over the Perkins twins, Jesse and Christian.
