Sequoia Runner Makes Historic Appearance at State Meet

Junior Anya Tonga will be representing Sequoia High in Clovis this weekend.

Junior Anya Tonga can throw a mean discus, which qualified her for the annual California State Track Meet in Clovis, California, this weekend.

This is the first time in seven years that a track & field athlete from Sequoia High qualified for a State Meet. Tonga placed third in last week’s CCS Finals with a discus throw of 126’0”.

“Anya is a tremendous kid,” said track & field coach Adrian Dilley. “This is a pretty cool accomplishment if you ask me.”
