Sequoia Rolls Past Monta Vista

Cherokees improve to 2-0 after 36-6 shellacking of Monta Vista.

Sequoia High’s football team followed up a Week 1 nail-biter with a romp for its second straight win.

The Cherokees jumped out to a big lead early and never looked back on their way to a 36-6 drubbing of Monta Vista of Cupertino in a nonleague game on Friday.

Dylan Anderson rushed for 72 yards on two carries and Cameron Greenough rushed for 61 yards on four carries to lead Sequoia.

Matt Jenkins and Mike Taylor each scored two touchdowns.

The Monta Vista win followed a thrilling 26-25 victory over Fremont of Sunnyvale in which the Cherokees rallied from an 18-point deficit, scoring 19 unanswered points in the second half.
