The Belmont-Redwood Shores All-Stars magical summer run ended abruptly Saturday night in San Bernardino, Calif., after they lost to
Southern California in the Little League Western Regional final.

Belmont-Redwood Shores, representing Northern California in the Western Regional, went unbeaten during the round robin part of the tournament, winning games over teams from Arizona, Utah, Hawaii and Southern California.

On Friday night in the Western Regional semifinal, Belmont-Redwood Shores, the No. 1 seed in the knockout stage of the tournament, topped No. 4 seed Arizona 8-1 to advance to the final.

The boys - who range in age from 11 to 13 - fell flat against the team from Eastlake Little League 9-0 in the final, which propelled the SoCal club to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Penn.
