Sequoia High to Tackle Subject of Cyber Safety

Parents, students and the community at large are invited to join Peter D. Lee from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) San Francisco Community Outreach division for an open community conversation on digital/cyber safety and awareness. 
 
The program promotes "cyber citizenship" and awareness by helping parents and students learn how to safely and responsibly use the Internet. The FBI's Safe Online Surfing (SOS) program emphasizes the importance of cyber safety topics such as password security, smart surfing habits, cyber bullying, online predators, social networking sites, and the safeguarding of personal information.

Lee will also discuss the appropriate use of cell phones and gaming devices. 
 
The discussion is part of the Sequoia Parent Education Series. These events are free and sponsored by Sequoia High School and the Sequoia Healthcare District.

The discussion will take place in Carrington Hall at Sequoia High School, 1201 Brewster Ave. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be offered. Light refreshments will be served from 6:30 to 7 p.m., and the discussion is from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
