Orion Gearing Up for Annual Author & Illustrator Fair

Each year, the Redwood City alternative school invites children's authors and illustrators to engage with students, parents, librarians, and other visitors. Proceeds benefit the RWC Education Fund.

Orion Alternative School’s 12th annual Author & Illustrator Fair takes place on Saturday, February 8th, 2014, from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 

Co-sponsored by The Reading Bug in San Carlos, the fair invites selected published children’s authors and illustrators each year to engage with students, parents, librarians, and other visitors in their art of writing and illustrating.

The event is free to the public. Books are available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to Orion Alternative Elementary School and Redwood City Education Fund. 

In addition to lively individual presentations with Spanish translations and personalized book signings, this year’s Author & Illustrator Fair will include food trucks, activities for children, fresh baked good to purchase, Orion chorus performance, and special author appearances.
