New Charter School Begins Search for Principal

Connect Community Charter School hopes to hire a principal in the next few months, in advance of opening in the fall.

As Redwood City's newest charter school edges closer and closer to opening, the school's founders are beginning the search for a principal.

Connect Community Charter School (CCCS) has already been accepted into the Redwood City School District, and plans to open in the fall, for the start of the 2013-14 school year.

"Finding the right person to lead Connect and bring our vision to life – well, few tasks are more important for the school," said the school's founders in an e-mail. "Our principal, along with our teachers, will be key to creating a welcoming, supportive place where learning is hands-on."

The school's founders say they are taking their search for the perfect principal very seriously, and hope to have the right person hired within the next few months.

"Terrific decision-making is front and center, and 'community' is the watchword."

School representatives are also prepping to host a series of Information Nights, beginning on Nov. 29. The organizers are looking for local volunteers to help gather questions from the audience and translate between English and Spanish, help supply refreshments for attendees, and help entertain children of families attending.
