Woodside Council Incumbent To Seek Re-election

Woodside will have three vacancies on the Town Council this election season.

Town Councilmember David Tanner has pulled nomination papers to run for re election this November, according to Janet Koelsch, Woodside Town Clerk.  Tanner is the first person to declare interest in the council race thus far.

Woodside’s Town Council will have three vacancies open in the November 2013 election, when the terms for the councilmembers who represent District 2, 4 and 6 conclude.

Deborah C. Gordon, David Tanner, and Mayor Anne Kasten’s terms will end.

The Town Council has seven seats, each of which represents a specific area of Woodside.

Monday was the first day that people could obtain paperwork to begin the process of running in the November 2013 election.

After pulling paperwork to start collecting nominations, people interested in the political positions need to collect 20 signatures, and do other paperwork, to get nominated for a seat. While the seats on the Council are restricted to the people who live within the district, voters throughout the town can cast their ballot for their favorite representative.

Potential candidates have until August 14 to turn in the paperwork to the Town Clerk.
