VIDEO: Substance Abuse Recoverers Showcase Pride During March
Victors who had been sober and clean for months celebrated together in solidarity.

Chants could be heard throughout the County Center Tuesday morning as nearly a dozen county recovery program participants proudly displayed their triumph over their mental illnesses and substance abuse.
The third annual “Recovery Happens” event brought hundreds of people together to celebrate.

San Mateo County was event made a national example of successful substance abuse programs with a visit from Ivette Torres from the U.S. Center for Substance Abuse Treatment in Washington, D.C.
