VIDEO: Kirsten Keith Learning Constituent Issues

Menlo Park Mayor Kirsten Keith takes campaign to new level in North Fair Oaks.

The seven candidates in the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors race are beginning to differentiate themselves from each other by embracing different mediums of voter outreach. Some are hosting , while others are extremely in between in-person candidate forums.

Menlo Park Mayor Kirsten Keith's campaign trail become markedly more sleek today. From day one, it had the classic elements of a campaign such as webpage and the Facebook page. Today, it got a new layer of media. Keith traveled to North Fair Oaks to talk to potential constituents about the issues that trouble their quality of life—on camera.

A group called "North Fair Oaks Improvement" invited county supervisor candidates to their neighborhood on Sunday to share greivances about a catering business that recently relocated to a space near their homes. Residents say the food factory is odiferous and noisy.

North Fair Oaks is an area that is considered an unincorporated area of the city of Menlo Park. It has a Menlo Park street address. However, the public policy that shapes what is socially and professionally acceptable in the area is managed by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. The district four seat represents the interests of Redwood City, Menlo Park, North Fair Oaks, and East Palo Alto to the board. About 150,000 people live within its boundaries according to the last census.

Keith, Ernie Schmidt, Carlos Romero, and Memo Morantes attended the event.

Keith's campaign manager shares footage of it with Patch.

I don't see whats wrong with the place. People instead should complaint about ohther issues like the number of liquor stores at every other street corner, which in fact, is parallel to the number of crimes in the surrounding area. Seriously, why bother about a catering business that works to reinforce the local economy? By the way, the color is a great marketing technique haha very vibrant, props!

It sounds like the residents have beef with the caterers.
