Two City Executives Receive Raises

The city attorney and city clerk both received raises on their six-figure salaries.

The city council passed raises Monday night to the city attorney and city clerk. Pamela Thompson will receive a 4 percent raise to $215,352 annually and Silvia Vonderlinden will receive a 7 percent to $108, 228.

The city’s executive services group last received salary increases in 2008, according to the memo from Mayor Alicia Aguirre. The council does not implement annual raises, rather sets compensation based upon comparable rates and employee performance.

In August 2011, the city council conducted a performance evaluation of Thompson, who began working in 2010 with a $17,256 monthly salary—1.59 percent above the market median. The increase brings her salary to $17,946 per month of 5.59 percent above the market median. Her adjusted salary will begin the first pay period following Aug. 23.
