SamTrans Route, Signage Changes Coming Jan. 26

The transit agency is also introducing new bus stop signage.

Redwood City SamTrans riders will notice some changes to the transit agency's service routes and signage later this month to attract more customers and operate more efficiently.

For instance, the route that operates between Redwood City Transit Center and San Francisco, via the airport, on weekdays during peak-hour/peak-direction, will be shortened. (Service option: Route 292 or BART. Route 398 will provide service from Redwood City Transit Center to San Bruno BART, via the airport.)

According to the agency's website, the changes include increasing how often a bus runs, realigning routes, adding and eliminating routes, and introducing two alternative routes as part of a one-year pilot program.  More information:

In addition to route changes, riders system-wide will also notice updates to bus stop sign design, which the transit agency says will make it easier for current and new customers  to recognize and read and to get real-time bus departure information from 511 and 511.org.

All SamTrans routes will have adjustments effective January 26, 2014.
