Redwood City Residents Take to the Polls

An election volunteer at the City Hall polling place said traffic has been steady so far today.

Redwood City residents are steadily taking the polls today, said Kay, an election volunteer at the City Hall polling location late Tuesday morning.

"Turnout has been pretty good so far," Kay said around 10:30 a.m. on Election Day Tuesday. "It's been steady all day so far. It was especially busy this morning, before work hours."

Kay did say she has had to ask several voters to remove their pins advertising their support for either President Barack Obama or Mitt Romney.

"Unfortunately, yes, wearing pins like that is considered 'electioneering,' and is not allowed within 100 feet of a polling place," she explained. "But most people have been very nice and understanding and have removed them right away when I've asked."
