Photos: House Speaker Also Protested at Fundraiser

Protesters stood outside another home just six miles from the Atherton home that hosted President Obama's fundraiser.

President Obama wasn’t the only politician who attracted protesters to his on Wednesday.

Over 40 protesters from the group CREDO SuperPAC, named to mock the Super PACS (political actions committees) which raise unlimited sums of money for politicians’ election campaigns, stood outside a Woodside home Wednesday evening where House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Gold River were hosting a fundraiser. Plates started at $35,000 or $5,000 for a photo opportunity.

Rep. Dan Lungren is running for re-election in November 2012.

"Congressman Lungren is California’s Rick Santorum,” said Sam Briggs, District Director for CREDO SuperPAC, in a statement. “Lungren has stone-age views on women, and has been practicing Tea Party extremism in California for decades. It’s time Californians sent Lungren packing in November.”

Protesters held a 30-foot banner in front of the home as donors arrived at the event.

"Boehner and Lungren only care about their 1% donors, rather than standing with California's workers and middle class families,” said Frank Burton, CREDO SuperPAC volunteer.

CREDO SuperPAC's "Take Down Lungren" campaign has hired four full-time organizers, opened a field office in Carmichael, and is partnering with local constituents in Rep. Lungren's district to mobilize voters and spread the word about his policies.
