Only 3 Applied for Planning Commission Spot

Redwood City wants you to serve on its various boards, commissions and committees.

Perhaps the have got you in a civic-minded mood, but you don’t want the added task of running a campaign.

The city has 21 spots on its boards, commissions and committees for those residents who want to serve the community and directly impact how it’s run. Seats are available on the , Senior Affairs Commission, Housing and Human Concerns Committee, Civic Cultural Commission, Board of Building Review, Library Board, Historic Resources Advisory Committee, and Architectural Advisory Committee.

As of Wednesday afternoon, only three have applied for one Planning Commission spot, according to City Clerk Silvia Vonderlinden.

“This opportunity is a real call to action for Redwood City residents – your help is needed!” said Mayor Jeff Ira in a statement. “Serving on a board requires a real commitment to put in the necessary time and effort. And those who serve will experience rich rewards in being a great asset to the community.”
