More Than $60,000 Paid Out at Gun Buyback Event

In our latest PatchClips: Some waited in line as long as two hours to sell a firearm at Saturday's event, where nearly 700 guns were collected.

San Mateo County Sheriff Greg Munks, Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Mateo) and County Supervisor Adrienne Tissier called Saturday's gun buyback event at the San Mateo County Event Center a success.

Roughly 680 guns were collected, including a handful of assault rifles, and many handguns, hunting rifles, shotguns and more.

Rep. Speier's office said around $63,000 was paid out for the guns collected.
