VIDEO: Firefighters Honor 9/11 Victims with 110-Flight Stair Climb at Oracle

The second annual 9/11 Stair Climb brought firefighters and first responders from all over the Bay Area to commemorate the anniversary.

Firefighters all the way from Pacifica to Gilroy joined the at in a tribute to those who lost their lives trying to save others during the 9/11 terrorist attacks 10 years ago.

In the , the community came together to solemnly honor the heroes, but also to celebrate the united community that formed after the horrific events.

“As you’re climbing, you realize that the firefighters of New York were going to ascend that climb to help the folks in the building,” said Batallion Chief Steve Cavallero. “You realize that was their last ascent. We want to honor their physical capabilities and the courage.”
