NBC Bay Area is reporting that the victim of Friday's armed residential robbery that triggered a lockdown at nearby Taft Elementary School was an 81-year-old woman that was home alone.
Magdalena Corral reportedly teaches at a church near her home in the 900 block of 10th Avenue, and at first thought the two masked men that burst into her home just before noon were from the church's youth group, playing a prank on her.
Corral's 24-year-old granddaughter reportedly lives with her in the home, but was not home at the time. The granddaughter, Vanessa Perez, told NBC she now fears for the family's safety.
