Unknown DUI Checkpoint Scheduled for Saturday

The California Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint over Presidents' Day Weekend at an undisclosed location.

Over the three-day weekend, the Redwood City CHP will host a sobriety checkpoint Saturday from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. to deter commuters from driving drunk.

“Every year, members of our community are injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers. It is the Department’s goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by drunk drivers,” the CHP said. “We are asking the public to designate a driver if they happen to allow alcohol to be part of their evening.”

As with all checkpoints, the media will be notified at a later time with the exact location of the checkpoint.
