The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about a scam currently being used by solicitors in the area.
According to Sheriff's deputies, solicitors are approaching residences and attempting to sell magazines to benefit the children's charity, Ronald McDonald House. Solicitors are reportedly well-dressed, and very polite.
Deputies say that if residents come in contact with anyone trying to sell magazines, call the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office San Carlos Bureau at 650-802-4277.
