Sheriff's Office Volunteers Cleaning Up North Fair Oaks

Expect to see a difference as you drive down Middlefield Road.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL) launched its newest program this week, the SAL Clean Team! This program focuses on cleaning and beautifying the North Fair Oaks area, while also building bridges with residents and merchants through education and outreach.

Leaders from SAL’s Clean Team are given the opportunity to make a difference in the community by planning and executing a weekly Middlefield Road clean-up plan and regular community clean-up events, along with outreach and education to the local neighborhood.

Within the auspices of the Clean Team, interested youth (ages 7-15) can take part in the Green Team. The Green Team will provide youth members with the opportunity to be mentored by Clean Team leaders, who will instruct them on the importance of sustainability and ways to care for the environment.

Additionally, there will be fun and educational field trips throughout the duration of the program. And guest speakers will also spend time educating SAL’s Clean and Green Teams about ecology, recycling, pollution, and much more! Interested community members should apply as we are actively accepting applications for this important program!

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League exists to provide positive programs for the youth of the community through sports and recreation, life skills activities, and educational activities, while also building the bond between law enforcement and youth.
