The Redwood City Police Department and Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL) will hold its first annual Redwood City Police Department Awards Gala on Thursday, October 24th, starting at 6pm, at the Hotel Sofitel, 223 Twin Dolphin Drive.
At the Gala, the Police Department will formally recognize local residents who have done exceptional work in assisting law enforcement officials in significant cases over the last year.
The Redwood City Fire Department will also present awards to firefighters whose actions have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
This gala event is open to the public and features a sit-down dinner with a full program of awards and community acknowledgments. Most notably, the Police Department will present a career legacy award to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe for his outstanding job performance and exceptional service to the local community.
Redwood City police officers will also receive awards for exceptional work.
The Redwood City Police Department and the Police Activities League (PAL) personally invite members of the media and community to this event which will benefit the Police Activities League (PAL) which is celebrating its 18th year of "Building the Bond between Cops and Kids."
PAL offers athletics, educational programs, civic, and cultural activities as viable alternatives to street activities. This year there are more than 3,500 girls and boys participating in programs at the PAL Community Center and on sports fields and school gyms throughout the community. To continue these successes and efforts, the Police Department and PAL count on help from community supporters.
