Redwood Police: Owner of Stolen Bracelet Found, Was Taken 20 Years Ago

Police are still looking for the owners of several other pieces of recovered jewelry.

Just a day after Redwood City police shared images of stolen jewelry recovered in a traffic stop, the rightful owner of one of the pieces has been found.

"Thanks to multiple responses to yesterday’s request for information from the public, the owner of the charm bracelet has been identified," Redwood City Police announced in a nixle alert.

According to the agency, that owner hadn't seen the charm bracelet in 20 years.

"The bracelet was stolen during a residential burglary in San Jose 20 years ago," police said.

"The Redwood City Police Department would like to thank the public for the interest and the response in assisting us with returning this item to its rightful owner," they added.

There are still several pieces unclaimed, though, and police said they'll continue to hold them for "safe keeping" until the owner(s) are found.

The dozens of unique necklaces, bracelets, rings and watches were seized during a traffic stop on a vehicle in Redwood City on Feb. 6. Police said they located the unique jewelry in the vehicle and the occupants of the car were unable to prove that they owned the jewelry or explain where it came from.
