Redwood City Police Promote New Lieutenants

Several officers were honored with the promotion recently, and will move up during the month of December.

The Redwood City Police Department is currently celebrating the promotion of several officers to the rank of Police Lieutenant.

Police Chief Gamez congratulated the following members of the Department that have attained the rank of lieutenant:

  • Lieutenant Sean Hart
  • Lieutenant Rhonda Leipelt
  • Lieutenant Paul Sheffield
  • Lieutenant Jim Stoney

As part of the screening process, each candidate took part in assessments and interviews with Lieutenants and Police Chiefs from outside agencies.

This group of lieutenants will be moving into their new assignments after the promotional ceremony, which is slated for early December.

Chief Gamez said, "I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am of the efforts that each of these candidates put into the promotional process. The group of outside Police Chiefs and Captain brought in to conduct the assessment panels were very impressed with the level of expertise and communication skills portrayed by all of our lieutenants."

"I am very excited to begin working with this group of dynamic individuals," Chief Gamez continued. "Again, congratulations to the new lieutenants. The future of the Redwood City Police Department is bright and full of promise."

Vanessa and ctpiazza, Buckley Stone at Pete's Harbor says it is because some time ago the CityRead More dredged near muni and ran a pipe under to spill it out at Bair Island, so it is actually the remains of rotting sea life. He knows so much about this area having been at Pete's for 20 years and knowing so much about the area the tides and the nature and land around here.
